Open Studios 2020

It's our pleasure to invite you to our first open studios in our newly constructed building in East Oakland.  For the past year, artists Lauren Szabo, Pablo Manga, and I have settled into our beautiful new studio spaces, and springtime feels like the right moment to open our doors to the public for the first time.

Please join us to see new work, work in progress, and to enjoy refreshments and good conversation.

Where: 2500 Foothill Blvd, Oakland, Ca 94601

When:  Saturday March 21st,   12pm-6pm

A bit about us -

Pablo Manga

Pablo makes abstract compositions — layered monochromes, undulating horizons and destabilized grids — using semi-transparent adhesive tape as a painting medium.  Through geometric abstraction and the interaction of color, he explores phenomena of perception, joy and meditative experience.  He shows with Hang Art gallery, including recent shows in San Francisco and at SCOPE Miami Beach, and is currently an artist in residence at Kala Art Institute and in Root Division’s MFA Never show.

Lauren Szabo

Lauren Jade Szabo is a Los Angeles born artist who lives and works in Oakland, CA. She graduated with a BFA in Illustration from California College of the Arts with distinction, and received an MFA Painting Fellowship from the San Francisco Art Institute. Szabo's work is grounded in painting and explores the friction between civilization and nature.

Evan Holm

Evan utilizes wood, steel, ink, plaster, electronics, and motors to generate large scale immersive environments.  The work explores themes orbiting a relationship in better harmony with the natural world.   He has shown throughout the Bay Area, including SFMOMA, San Jose Museum of Art,  the Contemporary Jewish Museum,  and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
